I recently saw this J-horror movie titled
Marebito. I rented it from Blockbuster amongst other movies (
The Howling,
Sin City,
Silent Hill, and
Princ
e of Darkness), all of which were much better and made more sense. Maybe it was because it had English subtitles and it was hard for me to follow. Maybe it was because I was dicking around with my friends while we were watching it and weren't really paying attention...I don't know. But the movie itself just didn't make sense to me.
I'm not going to reveal anything major that most other synopsi reveal. I don't know where the connection was made in the writing process that it was ok for the main character to record a grisly suicide is the subway and then have him venture into the underground and find some pale, half-naked tart chained to a rock.
The story is
supposed to deal with the macabre facisnation of the fear that an individual feels right before death, but I don't know how all of it is supposed to fit in with the naked vampire Jap...whoops, said too much.
Anyways, it's not like it'll ruin it for you. Go rent it for yourself and you'll see what I mean. The title is
Marebito; that's M-A-R-E-B-I-T-O. Good luck.
